Presentation of ALLMATIC IRIS ECO photocells These infrared photocells are sold and operate in pairs. They consist of a transmitter and a receiver, protected by a shockproof plastic case with an IP54 degree of protection, which protects them from dust and water splashes. The optics of these photocells can be adjusted horizontally and can rotate 180°. You have the possibility of installing and connecting up to two pairs of photocells. Photocells are a guarantee of safety for your gate and garage door automations. They will allow your system to avoid obstacles obstructing its path. If you do not have photocells and an obstacle is in the way of your gate, it could seriously damage it. The role of photocells is to avoid this type of accident. They will block your gate so that you can remove the obstacle hindering the closing or opening of your system. ALLMATIC IRIS ECO photocells are part of the latest generation of photocells from the Allmatic company. They have adjustable optics, which means that you can easily adjust the Fresnel optics from the friction joints, horizontally and 180°. You can also orient them vertically, with a possible rotation of ± 10°. ALLMATIC IRIS ECO photocells will detect in record time the slightest obstacle hindering the closing of your gate: they will detect obstacles in less than 30 milliseconds. In the same range of photocells, you can find ALLMATIC IRIS, ALLMATIC IRIS LED and ALLMATIC IRIS BAT photocells. They will not all have the same performance depending on the range. Operation of infrared photocells The infrared photocells will automatically detect the slightest obstacle present in the path of your gate when it closes in order to take the necessary measures to stop the mechanism if the obstacle is considered too imposing. They always work in pairs: one is a transmitter and the other a receiver. The emitting photocell emits an infrared light beam which is sent to the receiving photocell: if it does not receive the signal (a sign that there is an obstacle) it will send a signal to your motorization in order to stop the closing of your mechanism. Photocells are therefore necessary for the proper functioning of your motors and the preservation of their long-term capacities. Installation of ALLMATIC IRIS ECO photocells During installation, you must use the screws and seals supplied with your pair of ALLMATIC IRIS ECO photocells. You will then need to check the correct alignment of your photocells: for this, the LED on the receiver will indicate when the alignment is optimal. To correctly synchronize your photocells, they must be supplied with an alternating voltage of 12/24 Vac Technical characteristics and resistance Their shell is extremely compact and will resist all atmospheric events: rain, fog, snow. However, the signal may be slightly garbled and take a little longer to trigger than normal, but don’t worry: this won’t change its capabilities. They can operate at temperatures between -10°C and 55°C. Their infrared wavelength is 950mm for an infrared pulse frequency of 650 Hz. They will operate at a range of approximately 25m, but this may be slightly reduced if it rains, snows or comes into contact with dust.
